European Union officials have struck a provisional deal on new financial rules, including capping bank bonuses - Under the agreement, bonuses will be capped at a year's salary, but can rise to two year's pay if there is explicit approval from shareholders
Actually this could be beneficial for different reason. It will incentivize giving premium to bankers over longer periods of time (3 years for example) instead every quarter. Then they should be willing to make decisions for medium term instead short term profit.
