Hungary Steps Away from European Democracy
Pathetic
While threat to democracy and human rights is serious I find:ban on the homeless from loitering in public spaces,
fascinating. Like Hungarians completely lost sense of purpose of constitution. It should be list of basic limits for sovereignty of the state, not the Fidesz' wishlist.
How much is the gap between the richest and poorest countries in the EU expected to close in the next decades?
Slovakia and Lithuania had fastest growing income recently, but even for them growing from 50% EU average income per capita (in purchasing power standard) to 70% EU average took about 6 years. Bulgaria and Romania haven't reach this level yet.
I predict that in 2023 France, Germany and UK are below 120%, 2004 enlargement is at 70-80% and Romania and Bulgaria still below 70%.

Trends in under-5 (child) mortality in European countries between 1983 and 2011
Here
The logarithmic trends are better for projections and health policy appreciation. Azerbaijan had largest absolute drop in child mortality rate, but this is unhelpful information.

Imagine that you want make health reform in Latvia. Should you take example from Kazakhstan, which decreased the rate from 40 to 28 in 10 years or from Estonia which improved from 10 to 3.7?
